Good read from The Politico on Thompson
By John Rodgers | Filed Under Fred Thompson
For all you FredHeads out there – or anti-FredHeads for that matter - check out this story from The Politico yesterday on the shake-up in the Thompson campaign.
And as the story reads, Thompson’s non-campaign may not have the euphoria it once did.
But Tuesday’s move also underscores the more serious difficulties Thompson seems to be encountering as he moves closer to a decision.
His announcement date has been a moving target and his response to reports that he once lobbied for an abortion rights group was late and evasive.
The change atop his chain of command could provide even more fodder.
An update for those catching up: Tuesday, Thompson moved his acting campaign manager Tom Collamore to an advising role and brought on former U.S. Senator and Energy Secretary Spence Abraham and Florida GOP strategist Randy Enwright to manage his campaign.
The scuttle, as seen here in Carl Cameron’s Fox News report, is that Thompson’s wife and former GOP strategist Jeri Kehn didn’t agree with the way Collamore was running the show:
In fact, Collamore and Kehn butted heads, and that was partially responsible for Collamore’s move.
Thompson’s wife Jeri is a hard-nosed former Republican party operative and a long time political professional with a strong will. Insiders have long speculated that her personality would play a big role in the narrative of Thompson’s candidacy.

I understand that Fred Thompson is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR). If that is the case, I won’t be able to vote for him in any circumstance. I understant that there are also several other members of the CFR that are either running now or planning on entering the Presidential race.
I really don’t believe that this organization has the best interest of the United States of America at heart. There is a very good site that you can get a complete list of CFR members on as of last year. It is stopthenorthamericanunion.com Check it out.
