The $6 million question

The recently passed rezoning plan for Metro Nashville Public Schools includes $6 million in additional resources for schools in Nashville’s Pearl-Cohn cluster, some of which will have higher concentrations of African-American and economically disadvantaged students once the plan is implemented.

Council member Jerry Maynard wrote a letter to the school board this afternoon, asking the board to immediately pull that $6 million from the district’s reserve funds, as a “good faith effort” toward keeping its word.
